Earn More With Tech Dispenser Tech Blog Network
By Pankaj May 2, 2007 filed in Internet Marketing, PPC
If you have a blog and write good and original content related to technology, then you are going to benefit a little more for that hard work you put into writing your content. Tech Dispenser is a tech blog aggregator launched by ComputerWorld (with Adify) that aims to put a human element to news/content aggregation. At Tech Dispenser, technology blogs with original tech content is selected for inclusion in their network by its editorial team after careful inspection.
This is very different from the existing tech news aggregators like Techmeme and Magiti where content is chosen by the program that crawls through your blog. In here, Posts made by participating bloggers will appear on the Tech Dispenser website if and only if it is reviewed and selected by their editorial team (yes, actual team) and hence a higher probablity of relevant articles.
So far so good, where is the money? Tech Dispenser will ask all its participating bloggers (and that is a requirement to join their network) to put a standard 160×600 skyscraper unit from Adify on their websites. The location of skyscraper unit can be chosen by the blogger and will display text and image ads. Advertising revenue by displaying these ads will be split on 50-50 basis between you the blogger and the ComputerWorld.
The membership in the network is non-exclusive which means that the bloggers can continue to run other network ads like Google Adsense on their blogs. All this implies that you just have to find some more space on your blog to display one skyscraper unit from Adify and that would be all. You don’t have to worry about your existing revenue instead this should earn more money for you. Bloggers can also instruct Adify to display a default ad (could be an Adsense unit) in case there are no network ads available.
The whole thing sounds pretty good to me and you should give it a try. This service is not yet fully launched but they are currently accepting applications from all English speaking blogs and you can submit your blog for inclusion here.

Which Blogging Software?
By Pankaj November 21, 2006 filed in CMS
When I was looking for a blogging solution for my own blog, I was planning to evaluate all the available blogging software but I was afraid that it could eat up lot of my time. One day when I finally thought of starting this process and searched the web for available blogging software, I came across following interesting resources which saved all my time …
1. Blog software comparison chart
2. Blog Software Breakdown
3. Blog Software Breakdown (Alternate Source)
Above are the comparison charts of almost all (being safe) blogging software based on various parameters. These charts will give you enough clarity to choose the right blogging software for yourself which suites your need. 2nd chart will also tell the test URL where you can try out the features before finalizing on anything.
There is another very useful resource for trying out various PHP/MySQL based free and open source software systems. This is called opensourceCMS. Click here to test and feel great products related to content management.
As for me, I decided to go ahead with WordPress. Reasons, that I will write some other day.
